X Factor judge and pop star Demi Lovato went on Live! With Kelly and Michael recently to talk about the upcoming season of the reality show, the many colours of her hair and the crazy amount of tattoos she has.

“I’ve changed it six times this year,” Lovato says, about her hair colour. “I go to an incredible salon…I’m just happy I still have hair on my head.”

The singer goes on to tell hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan that she currently has 12 tattoos, noting a specific tattoo of a friend’s lip print as a “spur-of-the-moment, stupid decision.”

When asked if she ever considered removing any of them, Lovato said, “I’ve thought about it before because, when I get old, I don’t know if I want to have ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ on my finger, but whatever; I’m young and I can rock it now.”

Lovato, who is currently promoting the new season of the X Factor, also explains her working relationship to fellow judge Simon Cowell and how she doesn’t put up with his attitude.

“I definitely give it back to him, I don’t put up with it,” reveals Lovato. “I’m a southern girl who speaks her mind — if you’re going to dish it, you might as well be able to take it.”

A clip of the show then reveals a funny exchange between the two where Cowell tells a contestant, “if I had a dog, I’d call it Demi,” to which Lovato responds, “if I had a pig, I’d name it Simon.”
