Demi Lovato to perform on the 2012 MTV VMA red carpet

Demi Lovato is set to get the party started at the 2012 MTV VMAs when she performs her huge single Give Your Heart A Break during the red carpet pre-show. Beginning at 7 pm ET and airing on MUCH, Lovato, who is nominated this year for Best Video With A Message for Skyscrapper, will perform in addition to Best Electronic Dance Music Video nominee Calvin Harris.

Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, the MTV VMAs will feature performances from Rihanna, One Direction, Alicia Keys, Pink, Green Day, Taylor Swift, and Frank Ocean. The 2012 MTV VMAs will feature appearances from The Wanted, Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones, 2Chainz, Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and the 2012 US Women’s Gymnastics Team.

The red carpet event will begin at 7 pm ET on Thursday, September 6th followed by the 2012 MTV VMAs at 8 pm ET on MUCH.
