Denys Drozdyuk was crowned the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Canada‘s fourth season last night. With 1.5 million votes, the 25-year-old Ukraine-born, Toronto-based ballroom dancer came away with the show’s prize of $100,000 and a 2010 Mazda2, and a promising career ahead of him.
After wowing the judges, studio, and home audience with his final performance, a fiery tango, Denys edged out the final four, including runner-up Amanda Cleghorne of Missisauga. Amanda also won a Mazda2 and $10,000 from the newly-created Top 4 fund.
After an onstage explosion of gold confetti and an emotional post-win reunion with his mom, Denys spoke with Much about his winning strategy, and what he’s going to do next.
