I don’t care what anyone says or thinks, as uncool as this statement may seem…I honestly think Brandon Flowers is one of the best songwriters of this generation, along of course with Elliott Smith, Jack White, Rufus Wainwright, Conor Oberst, MuchMoreMusic’s Matt Wells (inside joke).
Seriously , I dare you to tell me this isn’t the best song you’ve heard in a long time (I’m looking at you, Wells!).

I love it! Freaking LOU REED! The video isn’t too cheesy either; its old school Killers.
I used to be a HUUGE Killers fan (even have a poster of them circa cowboys), but after Sam’s Town I lost my momentum. With their upcoming release of “Sawdust”, (out November 13th) I seem to have regained my Killers love back a little. It’s an album of b-sides and seemingly new material; the type of thing the Smiths and Oasis used to release. It’s kinda daft how many bands are releasing compilations of their work with only two albums under their belt. Never the less, “Sawdust” has some older Killers songs, with that older killer sound of Hot Fuss that Sam’s Town was missing.
Track Listing
01. Tranquilize - Lou Reed ness!
02. Shadowplay - Debateable Joy Division cover *Still have yet to see Joy Division movie “Control”. Anyone seen it yet?! I wanna go!*
03. All The Pretty Faces - 2005 goodness
04. Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf - the last missing puzzle piece between, Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine and Midnight Show
05. Sweet Talk
06. Under The Gun - Somebody Told Me b-side with easily mistaken lyrics
07. Where The White Boys Dance - this song makes me laugh
08. Show You How - Intro to this song (demo version) makes me melt
09. Move Away
10. Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll - 4 min of lyrics that don’t really relate to the Killers at the moment, one of my faves
11. Who Let You Go? - one of my (many) top played songs
12. The Ballad of Michael Valentine - another Somebody Told Me b-side of awsome
13. Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town -Kenny Rogers cover that makes me feel oh so sad
14. Daddy’s Eyes - the best song off Sam’s Town (bonus track)
15. Sam’s Town (Abbey Road Version) - naaaaame drop for props
16. Romeo and Juliet - Dire Straits cover, meh
The Killers with Lou Reed sound a lot like older Modest Mouse. Weird.

Amazing song, hopefully much music does it justice and plays it. The killers are truly one of the best bands in the world and to get the legendary lou reed on the track shows just how good they are.
