For those of you rushing out to buy an iPhone when it comes out this Friday, July 11, be VERY aware that you may be (and probably will be) getting completely screwed by Rogers/Fido on your plan.

How badly will you be getting screwed? Well, so much so that Apple is reportedly PISSED at how much Rogers is changing iPhone customers in Canada. And they’re playing hardball.

How so? Well Apple has decided to yank all iPhone from their flagship stores in Canada and have apparently diverted many of the iPhones to Europe where rates are far more reasonable. The only way you’re going to get an iPhone in Canada is if you go to a Rogers and Fido store. When you compare the rates with most countries – the U.S. for example – the cost per month is SHOCKING. For the same price per month in the States you get triple the airtime minutes and unlimited internet…not so with Rogers/Fido. The rates here are criminal in cost.

I was actually looking foreward to buying an iPhone…but sadly, after reading up on the rates and plans…I’ll be skipping it.

I’m not trying to get you to do the same…but…tread with caution.
