Diggy Simmons lands his own TV show

Rapper Diggy Simmons, son to hip hop pioneer and Run DMC member Reverend Run, has landed his own two-hour television show on BET. The comedy, so far going by the title The Untitled Diggy Simmons Project, stars Diggy as Blake, a blogger who works his way to the top of the entertainment world along with his group of loyal friends.

The show also stars Allen Maldonado as Manny, who plays Blakes best friend, and Teyana Taylor as Tiana, Manny’s twin sister. Eddie Murphy’s daughter Bria also features as Manny’s girlfriend Nia. The show will begin shooting later this year and is being run by the same production team as the Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks’ feature film Sparkle.
