Diplo makes directorial film debut

DJ, producer and M.I.A. collaborator Diplo makes his directorial debut this summer with his new film “Favela on Blast”.
“Favela on Blast” is a documentary about the underground music scene in Brazilian slums called favelas. The film follows musicians in these favelas through massive street parties, drug wars and encounters with the police all the while documenting the incredible music and dancing that emerges.
“Favela on Blast” is being released on DVD and digital on July 20th. Check out the trailer after the jump.
