Director defends shirtless Taylor

Good news for Taylor Lautner fans, sounds like there will be a lot of shirtless shots of him in New Moon. Taylor put on nearly 30 pounds of muscle for the Twilight sequel and the director says he gets plenty of opportunity to show off his hard work…

“For Taylor, it’s kind of like, if the part demands it,” says Chris Weitz. “The werewolves run 108 degree temperature the whole time and they’re constantly changing into werewolves and every time they do, their shirt bursts apart, so to me, it was perfectly justified that he would want to save money on T-shirts.”

Some critics have spoken out about the amount of skin Taylor shows because the actor is underage. The director says girls are often scantily clad in film and it’s about time the ladies got some eye candy.
