Ke$ha’s new video features some interesting things: bearded men in canoes, elephants, and animated crabs among other things. So we wanted to talk to the woman behind the video’s concept. We caught up with Laura Kelly who makes up one half of the directing team known as Honey, who directed Ke$ha’s “Your Love Is My Drug” video. Kelly gave us the inside scoop on what it’s like to work with the pop star.
Kelly said Ke$ha is a “total pro” and the whole concept for the video actually originated with an idea of Ke$ha’s own: she wanted a video that felt like her. The singer was a pro even when it came to riding the giant elephant in the video, which Kelly said seemed like a great idea until they saw how big the elephant really was in real life.
Oh and in case you were wondering, according to Kelly the elephant was a much bigger diva than Ke$ha.
Check out our whole interview with Laura Kelly below.
