Chasing Amee with The All-American Rejects
[Watch a new episode of disBAND tonight at 6pm ET, featuring Chasing Amee. If you miss it, watch it online later this week, but for now, check out what the band had to say about their experience on the show! - Kat]
Hello world!
CHASING AMEE here, AKA The Dingers (which we will explain later). We hope you enjoyed our episode as much as we did. To be honest it was one of the most rewarding experiences we’ve had as a band so far, other than that time our van ran out of gas and broke down and the Guru himself came to the rescue, which is how the legendary name THE DINGERS came to be (it’s a long story, maybe the bonus footage will explain it).
People may ask why the HELL would you come onto a national TV show never having performed as this band before? The answer is simple. We’re all about taking risks. We are the band who likes to take the road less travelled. We’re not relying on school or our good looks in life, were relying on nothing but music (along with our good looks too). Going into the show was a bit nerve-wracking, considering Greig has quite the hardass…correction, Greig was quite the “hard ass”*. We definitely knew it was coming considering he’s worked with some of the biggest rock groups to come out of Canada. This made us all the more willing to do whatever it took to get the job done. People might say these guys are idiots (which is true), these guys suck (which is also true), but we take our music quite seriously, so seriously that it’s our lives now.
To top off the whole experience, being able to play for The All-American Rejects was pretty surreal. They seemed to enjoy it and were probably one of the most down to earth bands we have met. (Need an opening band on your next Canadian Tour? Call us 416-555-2*63)
So what’s been going on with CA since the show you ask? Well, we’ve released our first EP Wet Dreams & Drama Queens which you can download for free off our MySpace page…or buy it and provide a warm meal for us tonight. We’ve also been playing shows non-stop and will hit the road on tour this summer, so keep an eye or two out for us. Do we feel accomplished? I’d say so. We haven’t stopped working since the episode. Don’t be surprised if you see us playing at some big shows in the spring in Toronto…let’s just say we won’t be playing the main stage (wink, wink). We’ve still got a long road ahead of us, but now that our van actually has gas in it we’re confident that we can continue on our journey as a band and grow…holy cheesy.

We owe the experience and great times on this show to quite a few people;
Greig (the donger) Nori: We love you and value any advice and criticism you gave us. Hope you enjoyed your cake (wink, wink) I’m sure it was a mouthful haha. As you said our paths just might cross sometime…not our swords our PATHS.
Antonella (the Dingerette): Best producer a band could ask for. You made us look pretty on camera and surprised us countless times. There was never a dull moment on this episode. Sorry for all the ass you had to see during the shooting, hope it was worth it. Thank you, Thank you!!!
Stedman (STEDMAN!!!!!!): inside joke… You rocked, raddest intern ever!!!
Tim Deegan (Deeganator)- Like an unofficial 5th member of the band. Thanks for teaching us how to do trays. If you don’t know what trays is I recommend you go grab the nearest car (don’t steal it), and try it. I’m sure Google will explain it.
Mark Spicoluk (London) – Thanks for the kinds words. You’re a smart man so to get the decision from you means a lot. See you around.
Saukrates – Glad you liked us. We weren’t expecting someone of your calibre and experience to approve of a band who’s just starting out, but we will gladly take it! Also like to thank the lovely models from the photoshoot, you guys made the day a little more exciting (hope you enjoyed Ryan’s package), the Camera Crew (stop touching our packages), Rehearsal Factory, Autumn Clothing (for providing sick threads for the show), the boys in Credible Witness, Satelites, and The All-American Rejects, and last but not least MUCH. Without you we wouldn’t have been able to do this! Thanks to everyone who watched, and enjoys us and our music. It means the world to us.
Should we say something deep and intelligent to end this? F*CK TH@T.
Love,
CHASING AMEE (The Dingers)
