[Watch a new episode of disBAND Tuesday @ 6pm ET. Check out what Joshua from Dean Lickyer had to say about the band's experience on the show!]

Friends, North Americans, City and/or Countrymen…

If this is your first meeting with Dean Lickyer then it’s our pleasure to meet you. To be quick through the introductory formalities, DEAN LICKYER is a four piece rock band from Hamilton, Ontario with a sound inspired by classic bands of the 60s, 70s and 80s as well as many of the bands of today.

Moving along…

Since the essence of good television and all drama is “conflict”, we can be accused of threatening the entertainment value of our episode by making our time with MuchMusic seemingly frictionless. Exempting our natural clumsiness from first time camera fears, we tap-danced through every challenge like Fred Astaire… from the stunt of our rogue performance outside the Rogers Centre while AC/DC played inside, to the various interviews and scrutinized performances, as well as our “reward” of semi-nude photos (if you are reading the blog before watching the episode the previous comment might not be what you think…or is it?!).

It was a ball. The MuchMusic crew was great and treated us like gentlemen (as if we were the ladies and this was our first date). The judges were like Much’s friends and they gave us their approval as they looked us up and down. My personal favorites were Mark Spicoluk and Saukrates: Mark for liking the story behind the name, Sauk for defending the name and for doing a great version of Kashmir with the violin on YouTube. Ralph was grand, but much more intimidating than the rest, and the woman whose name escapes me… well she was going for the short, sweet approach I think.

Thank you’s go out firstly to, Matthew Barnes, a stone cold killer shooting with that lens. I don’t think another photographer could have made us trust him enough to start stripping. We had faith in his vision and the photographs were deadly. To Mark, Leslie, Guru Greig and all the MUCH Crew… it was a blast and I hope you had as much fun as we did. Last, but of course not least, is the thanks to everyone who came out to the final performance at MUCH and the after- party that followed; it will certainly go down as a day for DEAN LICKYER to remember.

If you haven’t already watched the episode, check us out. If you enjoyed what you saw and heard we will be touring from coast to coast in Canada and a lot of the United States in 2009. Check our MySpace page regularly for updates on shows.

As it was said in the beginning, if this is your first encounter with us, it’s a pleasure. Hopefully this won’t be your last and as you grow into us and with us, with luck; the pleasure will no longer be solely ours.

Come stop by our Facebook and MySpace pages after the episode for a chat and cake… the cake is a lie; sorry.

Happy Holidays,
Joshua Alvernia, D.L.
