Oh! Hey. I didn’t see you there. My name’s Jules Mkools & I’m one half of the group Dog Bus. Recently the people who run MuchMusic wet their pants. You may be wondering why they in fact did this. Well I’m going to tell you.
After checking out our website, MuchMusic decided to film us for disBAND. We’re a hip hop group from Waterloo, Ontario that fuses dance, hip hop, crunk, rap and rock together to make amazing music that will blow your mind. Imagine if your favourite band played a show at an amusement park and it was in space with free ice cream, robots, and a flying unicorn party. That’s how our shows have been described. I’m 17 and my brother Jakey Mkspankey, the other half of the group, is 11. Yeah. That’s right.
We were so excited when we found out that we would be on the show! So excited infact, that Jakey sadly fell into a coma. The Jakey you see in the episode is actually a robot. So on the down side, because of MuchMusic my brother fell into a coma, but on the good side, at least I finally got the robot I’ve always been wishing for. Thanks! It was so fun to actually be inside of MuchMusic and meet people like Greig Nori. It was really cool to hear his feedback and hang out with him even though he did get kinda annoying when he kept asking to join our band every 2 seconds. Haha. Watch that guy; he’s gonna be big some day. We probably got some of the best reactions from the judges in the history of the show and our robot helped us tear the roof off during our performance. Thanks to everyone at MuchMusic for being so nice to us & giving us the opportunity to take the Dog Bus to television!
We’re also having a cd release party at The Starlight in Waterloo May 14 @ 7:00 and we’d love it if you came!

I think Dogbus is extremely talented. They definitely brought something new to the table. I loved their energy and you can tell they are doing what they love to do.

Dog bus is a legit band that would completly command the charts if they were given the chance and advertising. I understand why some people would believe that this band is a joke but life isn’t about seriousness and money. Its also about the perks of our daily lives. For me that perk today was this bands preformance;The band heered me up so much that i visited the muchmusic site for the first time ever.

i have read the commenta and 1 or 2 of u guys are missing the point..these 2 kids are great…do u know why? cos they made me forget about all the stress i have been going through this past 2 weeks…i could not stop smiling and was glad that the song they were singing had nothing to do with sex and killing and drugs. they were real kids having fun and the judges knew that…yes hey will need a lot of cleaning up but man it was about time to see people have fun and create their own beats and songs…they made everything u heard and look how young they were. my sister who is a music critic even surprisingly liked them cos they made her smile…i think they should have their own show

I agree these guys are really really bad,(i am not a racist person but this is what i say)First of all their lyrics suck, the older one can’t rap, and if u wanna be a rapper why are u in tight tops and skinny jeans????i believe people can rap if the are good like classified and eminem but these guys are a joke. the younger one jakob i think can improve and their beats are good but they know nothing anout rap also the fact that i’m a 14 year old girl and i’m better than them(not because i’m black though)but they were so bad i cant stand it and they wont make it in the industry

They were good for kids but not for a sufficient level within a crumbling music industry. BE COMPLETELY HONEST using intelligence. What rapper from Canada has ever sold in the USA more than 100,000 units in the USA as well as Canada? Plus myspace plays and views usually show a sufficient amount of fans on a world wide basis on a whole.
Much Music needs to re-due the entire show with judges who matter and know music. Every judge that they have on that show is a joke and show no sufficient determination on a credible level as being arbitrators towards knowing what good music is. I don’t believe this show will be in existence next year and only shows the truth to the ones who watch it still of a music industry that is falling in CD sales.

I agree I was very confused at first and I didn’t like their music. But, even though I’m not a fan of their music, I can honestly say that these two kids deserve a lot of respect because they are true to themselves in their original artistic expression… which is something I cannot say about those looser emo/punk bands that all sound the same and that are always on the show. Good luck to dog bus and keep making music that you love.

I thought these guys were amazing. They’re great performers and nobody else on DisBand has done what they’ve done. It looks like they’re actually having fun, and honestly, I think that’s what music should be about. I really do wish I had a robot and their songs are just real and upbeat… and Jules is pretty cute. =). I’ll definately be buying their album on iTunes.

they were absolutely awesome and the best of all seems to be having a lot of fun…. which is definitely infectious to audience… they need to packaged up properly and marketed the right way… cause they can actually go mainstream. And i definitely wished i had a robot.

It was certainly one of the most entertaining things I’ve seen in a long time. I busted a gut watching you guys, it was hilarious!
The fact that you weren’t trying to be a serious band that this is the make it or break it moment in your life and just went and had fun made it awesome. The judges certainly weren’t bored with you guys sounding like everyone else and playing the same way, so congrats on the thumbs up!
Jules MKools reminds me of a friend of mine except he doesn’t rap he just draws and says ridiculous things like you do. Keep on ridin’ the dog bus guys!

Ignore what the haters say. In terms of your genre, i think you do have what it takes reach the top. Alot of so-called “real” music tend to be really depressing these days and needs groups like these to bring us back to the brighter side of the industry.

These guys are a disgrace to the format of the show, and the fact that they got told they had what it takes, totally takes away all credibilty from the judges. These two kids are nothing but a dumb joke. I’m sorry Much Music, but you have totally lost it.
