Wow!! The day of our performance was incredible – and every other adjective in the Oxford dictionary. I remember being so anxious to get out on stage. I was a little nervous… you know since I was about to sing on National TV, no big deal or anything… but I was mostly so excited to sing for everyone who came to see me! And I knew that we were ready to kill it!

Kyle, Johnny, Matt and our new bass player Dan, walked down the steps and I could hear the crowd. Then I walked out, and everyone screamed so loud… I felt like I was on top of the world… so happy to see all my friends, their signs (especially the one that said “Johnny, Matt, Kyle and Dan.. Marry us!” aha) and Greig Nori cheering me on. I picked up my guitar, said a few words, and we began to play… Though my heart was beating out of my chest, I somehow felt comfortable at the same time. It was a very strange 4 minutes for me. But I loved it.

Then the song was finished, just like that! I felt really good about it! But once everyone stopped cheering, the judges asked me to play the chorus by myself – without the band. I wasn’t really expecting that… but I went for it anyway. I don’t think I’ve ever performed like that before… it felt awesome. When I finished, everyone screamed. And all I could do was smile.

Then it was time for me and the guys to go back upstairs as the judges deliberated. Everyone including Greig thought that we did great! It was awesome to have everyone’s support but I was still scared to hear the judges’ decision. We waited and waited and waited… and I was just shaking in my boots dying to hear our fate on this show.

Finally, it was time to go downstairs for the verdict. We walked out and before we knew it, Sarah the VJ said… “Maddy Rodriguez should Disband.” My heart stopped. I was just frozen… But then she said something else… that ‘that was the opinion of only two judges’…the other two thought that I have what it takes! And my heart started beating again. Though the judges opinions were split, they decided to invite me to the FINALE and perform at MuchMusic again!!! So WE MADE IT! It was wonderful, and I was so glad that we were given a chance to continue on in this ‘competition’!
