[Watch new episodes of disBAND Tuesdays @ 6:30pm ET! Check out what Theo of Satellites had to say about the band's experience on the show - Kat]
Hey everybody! Theo from Satelites here. So our episode is FINALLY here! We hope you all enjoy watching it (Tuesday, February 24 @ 6:30pm ET!) because we definitely had an amazing time filming it. Despite all the bumps along the way…..=D
It was quite the long process, especially for us, since we got a little extra time so we’re all super excited that it’s finally airing. We learned a large amount about the business in a very short period of time. The experience was so educational. It was priceless, really, so we’re very thankful for it. We’ve learned to take this business seriously…even if we don’t always take ourselves seriously. I mean I don’t wanna turn into a robot.
Anyways, currently Satelites is working on tightening its live game, recording and FINDING A BASS PLAYER (preferably a girl). We’ve got an EP in the works (It Came From The Sky…) Expect that sometime during the summer. God I can’t wait till summer!! I have had it up to HERE (I’m holding my hand VERY high right now…SO fed up) with this $*& dam snow!!
But yeah, that’s pretty much what we’re up to now. I’m not gonna lie, getting a band up and running is SUPER tough. It’s like buying a shit box car and having to do major repairs before you can take it on the road. FRUSTRATION! The thing is… if you REALLY like cars, the wait and hard work will be worth it…. and when you finally get to take that car out on the road you feel so satisfied and accomplished…….yeaaaa. How was THAT for an analogy!?!?!
And now the thank you section…
We worked with so many cool people during this show. I’d like thank them all for sharing their time and giving us this opportunity. Specifically Dave, Stedman, Jon Levine, Mr. Greig Nori, The Rehearsal Factory, Blue Mountain, Gibson, Sarah Taylor (for looking so gorgeous for our ep), our boys from Chasing Amee (you guys made that day at WestSide a little easier lol), ummmm, Allen’s parents, for letting Much invade your house, Joanne, Sienna, MY MOMMY, RICKY, Art’s parents, Bronx, Ronald (we wouldn’t be able to leave the basement without you man), Skyboy Ent., A.C.E., the judges (we totally get where you were coming from) ……… dam I can’t think of anymore. I do want to give a special thanks to Andrea. Thank you for choosing us and really believing in us. And for giving us a metaphorical bitch slap when we weren’t taking things as seriously as we should’ve been. We appreciate it sssssooooooooooo much. Same to you Gloria! Thank you for your support and encouragement and for trying so hard to get THAT SONG on the air for us. BTW people, go listen to Meg & Dia.
Lastly and most importantly. A gimorous-gantic-huge thank you to EVERYBODY who came to watch us on “our big day”! I honestly believe you MADE our show.
Without you guys, we’d have just been standing there looking all sad and disBANDed and stuff. It just goes to show that amazing friends and fans, such as yourselves, are the ultimate driving force and backbone of ANY band so thank you SOO much! We’re gonna keep working at it!
Lastly, lastly…………. =/
Art, Allen……..i love you guys (tee hee)………..and yes, you gentlemen already know…we DO have what it takes..
SEE YA ON THE BLOGS!! ja mata ne!!

hey dudes! just saw the episode and i thought you guys rocked! they are right in that you do need to tighten up, but i think you should have been given the chance. you’ve got great potential not only in your music but in your look and presence too. i mean, fuck, anyone would be nervous about doing a show like that, and considering you went there to GET the help, it kind of sucks that you got shot down for just being what you are at the time. they said your sound was good but totally 1996.. i was like.. so?? oldschool sound is the BEST kind of sound! most of the new shit sucks balls.
i’m a chick and i’ve played guitar for.. 8 or 9 years now. i’ve fiddled with the bass here and there and if i had the money for my own i’d definatley like to pick it up. if had that kind of experience on the bass at this point, i’d totally ask about joining the band! haha.
glad you’re all staying positive, and i hope it all works out for you! keep at it! peace out
You guys are AMAZING! I have absolutely NO idea why you guys were told to disband. The song was amazing, it wasn’t even “sloppy.” Those judges are out of their minds.
Good luck to you guys. =]
to Kat, the manager of this blog. why did you add the time and date of the show to theos original blog? and why did you put the wrong time? i hope we didn’t lose any viewers because of that. other than that, this is awesome, thanks to errrrrbody.
oh, no worries, yeah hopefully.
haha these guys suck! haha
when i saw the performance on disband, it really didn’t show much of the song. it was like bits and pieces of it, and i couldn’t really get a sense of what you guys were doing. so i checked your myspace page and i was genuinely surprised because i actually like this band! maybe it’s cuz i’m a sucker for pop-punk, but your melodies are truly great. it sucks that you guys don’t have a bass player, but your a talented band, you’ll find one eventually! the judges were right about some things, like tighten up the sound, but most of the time i find them to be really biased so forget them and keep on rocking!
Obviously you don’t know good music when you hear it. They have an amazing sound - oh, and by the way… have you ever heard of q-tips?
hey dani thanks!!!!!!!!! yeah this show is messed up. it all really depends on which judges you get. some judges give you a chance and some judges base it on if you can make it literally right now, i know they saw the potential, they had to’ve. hahaha yeah when that judge said it sounds like 96′ i didnt see that as a negative comment AT ALL, you’re right, music in the 90’s are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better quality then the music now, and to be compared to that era is such a compliment haha. well if you do pick up the bass, come audition haha. never put down your guitar, thanks for your support, hopefully i’ll see you at a show in the future BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
hey morgan, haha thanks!!! hahaha well the song was kind of sloppy, you might be able to notice it in the fulll performance now that much has posted it up on the website. hahaha but yes they ARE out of their minds. but it’s all good cus it’s given us the drive to prove them wrong !!!
thanks for your support.
hahahaha james is the man!!! to dan, i respect your opinion, without haters, we’d have no one to prove wrong, and i notice that the biggest and most successful bands also have the most haters, so keeeeeep em coming!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha
to james, thanks for having our backs, hopefully we’ll see you at a show sometime in the future!!!!!!!!
hey kelsey thanks for your support. yeah the judges gave us some good pointers, some of which didn’t make it on the show. we didn’t take this show and the experience negatively at all, this is just a learning process, and we definitely need some work hahaha. but once we’re 100% IT’S OVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, europe, asia here we comeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha
Yo Dudes!
Just streamed your episode, and checked out the myspace. I’m feelin’ it, you boys have potential. Just need some more time to get tighter and get some shows rolling to start building that stage experience. Good job guys, keep it up!
Much Love,
Chris (The Homecoming)
I just wanna say my heart goes out to you guys.
You guys are right—you could never please everyone & nobody is perfect
so, you missed a gig b/c of certain circumstances
so, the judges and people like Dan, disagree with your music
WHO CARES~
I am not a musician, nor am I belittling the importance of the music industry and its know-to ppl (no offense really =P)
All I am saying is, you should be playing for your number one fans—
“yourselves”
play for your dreams, your hopes and your love for music.
Sometimes, you get caught up with the pressure, you tend to lose sight of how far really you guys have come since you first took out that car on the road* as Theo puts it =P
Keep Rockin’ so many ppl believe in you, my bro included—he keeps goin’ on and on about u guys, and I bet others are too.
gambatte ne*
yo dude, thanks for the feedback, yeah we need some practice and experience, haha we might even be doing some shows with you guys in the near future…
i remember the day after your episode aired i was downtown near muchmusic and i saw you and one of your bandmates and as i walked by you guys i told you that you guys were sick….
damn soooo lucky you guys got the first episode, SOOOOO much attention, you guys got massssive myspace hits from that.
