disBAND: Stereos (Dan)

Don’t you dare miss the season finale of disBAND this Wednesday at 8pm ET! To celebrate, we asked three members of Stereos to blog about their experience GETTING SIGNED TO A LABEL. We’ll post one a day til the air date! Then on Thursday, Stereos will perform on MOD!
Hey what’s up!
It’s hard to believe that in 6 short months we’ve gone from being that local band in Edmonton to that band that got signed on national television. Who knew that when we got the call from MuchMusic and Greig Nori it would amount to this? To tell you the truth… I knew all along. I always believed that if our band was given the right opportunity, there would be no stopping us.
So we got onstage for our disBand performance and did what we do best. We impressed 3 out of the 4 judges on the panel haha, I guess you can’t always please everybody. That performance was the first major step in the band’s life, a chance to prove that we ARE the best.
After that the next few months were a blur… we went from playing at MuchMusic to working day jobs back in Edmonton, to playing a showcase for Gene Simmons, then coming back to Toronto to showcase for Gene once again, and Universal Records. Then, finally, we signed to Universal Records. It’s amazing to see how far hard work, determination, and faith will take you. And this is only the beginning. Now we have to prove ourselves to the rest of the world, and by the end of our episode and our MOD performance this Thursday, I hope our point will be made clear: we want to be best, and will not give up until we are.
To all our fans, families, and supporters that have stuck with us: we love you, we couldn’t have done it without you.
To all our haters: we love you too. Keep hatin, that’s your job, it only makes us work harder.

That hook in your song is killer and I’m a metal girl, not into that pop scene, There is just something about your band. You already got me checking you out and getting all my friends to listen and download your music. Haha and wow you guys are Hot! I gave you some of your first shows so of course this bring so much happiness to my heart but more so than that it’s our friendship. Wow, you guys make my life every time I hear your music. You guys are absolutely amazing, and no matter what, keep doing your thing. Keep smiling, and keep your head up when times get rough. You’ve got tons of fans who love you and everything you do. I’ve already downloaded your songs, and I can’t wait for more. You guys might remember playing at my school, Sir George Simpson. Hey! so i just finished watching the muchmusic disband show, i don’t even watch this show much but when i saw the preview for the show tonight i could not help but watch you guys had me hooked from the start. The band is amazing and totally great and i loved all your songs. The band rocks! I love it! And i love you guys!
