disBAND: Stereos (Rob)

Don’t you dare miss the season finale of disBAND this Wednesday at 8pm ET! To celebrate, we asked three members of Stereos to blog about their experience GETTING SIGNED TO A LABEL. We’ll post one a day til the air date! Then on Thursday, Stereos will perform on MOD!
Disband was truly a life-changing excperience for us. From the second we got to Toronto, the entire situation seemed dreamlike.
I always knew that we had what it would take to excel in the industry. Every long night staying up printing merch, freezing in vans with no heat, and playing shows to 2 people has finally paid off. In only 6 months we went from being nobodies in the music scene to one of the top up and coming artists on a major label. Every challenge that DisBand’s Guru Greig Nori threw at us we were prepared for and accomplished. All of this led to us getting the thumbs up from a panel of esteemed judges on our performance day.
We truly owe so much to Greig Nori and the entire staff at MuchMusic, they have begun to make our dreams a reality and proven that we are meant to do this. This has been the best 6 months of my life thus far, and it is only beginning! The sky is the limit, til we get there.

Rob-This is crazy! it seems like everything is happening so fast and I didn’t even get to say a formal goodbye in December. I’m so impressed and so proud.
It feels like yesterday we were hanging out at 7-11 talking about everyday stuff and now you’re blowing up! insane.
p.s you were never nobody in this scene. But i get where you were coming from.

I find that you guys are great! I watched you guys for the first time on disband and I instantly loved it. It is so cool that you guys are in the region of where I live. It’s so close and it’s nice to have a local band that has made it big. I’m proud of you guys and hope to see so many of your songs. I haven’t really found that many but I’m hoping to find some way other than myspace or something that will show me your songs. Have an awesome time with your new career and I will be cheering and voting for you guys. Haha see ya later. Love you all!!

You guys always make my day, when I feel a little down, you guys always put me back up and then thanks to you guys, I can then continue my wonderful day. And I really hope that you guys will soon do a CD so I could listen to you guys all the time, and also I would LOVE it if you guys came down to Halifax, Nova-Scotia and rock ours socks off!
