December 14th, 2009

Well. Happy Monday. I guess.
Okay, that was so obviously sarcastic, that I feel the need to make it up to you. Allow me to re-introduce you to a (mind da lingo) F#CK!NG amazing band – Stars.
Bare with me while I venture off into – cue Maggie & The Ferocious Beast theme song – nowhere land! (Mad props to whoever’s actually seen that show before, btw). Okay so… yesterday morning, I get up, take a shower, get dressed, eat leftover sushi from the night before, etc etc. K. My aunt picks me up to take me out for lunch (yeah, she one of those cool aunts). She turns on her CD player… and I hear something… eloquent. Something… indie. Something… pop. SOMETHING ELOQUENT INDIE-POP ISH.
Yep. Turns out it was Stars.
I can’t be sure whether it’s Amy Millan’s similarity to Emily Haines of Metric, or it’s simply the insanely relaxing, rejuvenating sound that they spit out… but either way, duuuuuude, Stars has to be one of the best groups that I’ve ever heard.
So far I’ve been loving their albums Set Yourself On Fire, and Sad Robots. Best track I’d say is “He Lied About Death”. Let me also point out that Metric does a SICK remix of it!
SO YES. This week: watch tons of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Criminal Minds, eat the whole wheel of cheese (don’t worry, I won’t be mad… actually, I’d be impressed), give everyone you know taco-flavoured kisses, and of course… listen to F#CK!NG Stars.
