This evening on The Wedge, Cam and I try to interview Morrissey and the truth is he is my white whale of an interview. There is so much I would like to talk to him about: when he nearly joined Slaughter and The Dogs, running the New York Dolls’ fan club, being a friend with Oi! legends the Business, tons of stuff. So here are my three fave Smiths clips in celebration:

This song is amazing and the video equally so… also riding a bike in England scares me for some reason:

In England they had an amazing show on TV called TOP OF THE POPS. What made it amazing was the fact that they would have every band on the charts on… like the Exploited!!!! As the British charts have far better taste than our charts, the Smiths made it on this show all the time. This is their first appearance and ol’ Steven shows that he was made for the role.

This is my favourite Smiths song. Holy shit is it devastating. And it has a video but it could be just a blue screen a la Derek Jarman’s Blue for three minutes and it would still be one of the greatest videos of all time because of the song.
