Need to know: It’s been a while since Down With Webster released Time to Win Volume 1, making the release of Time to Win Volume 2 a highly anticipated record for 2011. The original concept of this album was to have it released a few months after the first one, but with the unexpected success of the band the second album got pushed back and changed into a full-length record. The thirteen track album showcases the dedication and hard work by the boys with their insane guitar, drums, and piano work. By writing all the songs and producing most, Down With Webster present an album that is made of win.
In 150 words or less: It is as if you can feel the emotions that DWW were trying to project when listening to each song. With She’s Dope and Big Wheels released as singles, you may be surprised to hear what the album has to offer. However, there was a consistent theme of winning and girls and you can tell that the boys have matured through their dope lyrics. The one guest artist on the album is a track with Far East Movement, and the two groups mesh perfectly with the track called Work. The third single, Professional, produced by Toronto’s Boi-1da, will have fans rocking out. An awesome release by the boys and definitely worth the wait!
Best Tracks: Go Time, Professional, I Want It All, White Flags, Jessica, Work ft. Far East Movement, and So Positive
RIYL: Classified, Drake, Gym Class Heroes
Rating: 8/10
Buy, Download, Steal or Don’t Bother: Buy!
P.S. MuchMusic got a shout out in the thank you section of the album! Thanks boys!
