Dr. Dre suing former label

Dr. Dre is suing the new owner of Death Row Records.

The producer/rapper has filed a motion that claims the label has failed to pay royalties since he left Death Row in 1996. He’s also suing the label for releasing a a greatest hits collection as well as a new version of his groundbreaking album The Chronic titled The Chronic Re-Lit without asking for his permission.

The suit was filed yesterday in federal court in Los Angeles against WIDEawake Death Row Records and its parent companies. (WIDEawake purchased Death Row after it filed for bankruptcy.)
