Drake graduates from high school ten years after dropping out
October 18th, 2012
Ten years after leaving school, Drake has received his high school diploma. The Take Care rapper took to twitter to share his good news with his fans, tweeting “97% on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school!”
Drake also gave his tutor a shout-out to his over nine million followers, tweeting “Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!! OVO SOUND.” I’m anxious to hear how many times he rhymes ‘Drake’ with ‘graduate’ on his next single.
Drake dropped out of high school when he was just one credit short of graduating at the age of 15 to pursue his acting career on Degrassi, where he played Jimmy Brooks for seven seasons. In my mind, Principal Simpson is presenting Drake with his diploma.
