Drake is the first person to successfully rap and sing…according to Drake

As we all know, Drake is one heck of a humble guy (not). In a recent interview, the Toronto rapper explains that although other rappers have incorporated melodies into their tracks, he is the “first person to successfully rap and sing.”

He also insisted that he is quite the unique exception to the world of rap in the sense that he gets to be himself all the time instead of a character of some sort. “I’m one of the few artists who gets to be himself every day,” he says. “It doesn’t take me six hours to get ready and I don’t have to wake up in the morning and remember to act like this or talk like this. I just have to be me. That’s one of the favourite parts of my life – I’ve done this purely by being myself.”

Drake is currently taking up residence in Los Angeles to work on a new album and promises that this will be an interesting album; one the most exciting projects he’s ever worked on apparently. “It’s going to be a very interesting album – probably, to be honest with you, conceptually one of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on, just because there’s so many new things going on in my life.”

One thing’s for sure about this new album – you best believe he will be singing and rapping on it.
