Come on, we all download illegally. Just admit it.
The BBC recently hired Musicmeter to track illegal file sharing around the world and to no one’s surprise, America came out on top. In the first half of 2012 alone, America shared 96,868,398 files, which was more than double the amount shared by the runner-up country, the United Kingdom. Canada, as well as Italy and Brazil, rounded up the top five.
But, of course, the question on all our minds is who is the most pirated artist? The one and only Drake! His song The Motto was downloaded 458,038 times between January and July. Funny enough, though, Drizzy wasn’t the most pirated musician in his homeland of Canada; Kayne West was. Man, these guys are rich enough as is — can you imagine how much richer they’d be if we actually paid for all those downloads?!
