Imagine seeing an electro-group that has the talent to not only make an impact but pioneer a new trend in the electro-music industry.
Not cool enough?
How about having the credibility of touring alongside electro-titans like Steve Aoki and LMFAO.
Still need more?
Well, what if I said they’re doing all that as an unsigned group?
Now you’re looking at something special. Let me introduce you to DUBBS- an electro-house group who put on a heart-jolting performance last Thursday at The Brunswick House bar in Toronto.
The three man group consists of brothers Alex and Chis Van Den Hoef (vocals and drums), and Martin Sinotte (producer/DJ) , who’ve fused electro-house and hip-hop to create a trend setting sound.
The reason they’re so different is the way they approach playing live shows. Where most electro-groups rely on playing a pre-mixed song from a laptop, DUBBS recreates all their songs on stage from scratch: everything from their vocals to their synth beats.
And let me tell you….man, do they know how to put on a show.
Saying the group shocked the house is an understatement. When the clock struck midnight they ran on-stage and immediately gave the crowd doses of party fever from their recently released EP Generation Party. Although they’re still rookies to the music scene DUBBS was playing with veteran energy levels. Such incredible hype for one non-stop 30 minute party.
They played some of their club-bobbing singles like Dance Bitch, Generation Party, and Girls Kissing Girls- which they’re in the process of making a music video for.
But this was just another stop for the group that’s been touring around Canada since early in the summer.
Over that stretch they’ve won a MuchMusic disBAND audition and played in everything from clubs to music festivals. But the party levels don’t stop there. This month they’re even looking forward to opening for JFK of MSTRKRFT.
Talk about having juice.
Check out when DUBBS is playing near you because this really is a chance to see something great-in-the-making.
