Earworm of the Day: Madcon – Beggin’

Have you seen this Adidas house party commercial yet? Missy Elliott, David Beckham, Katy Perry, Estelle and a bunch others make appearances.

Pretty sick, right? (Despite the “be original” message, while the whole commercial is filled with only Adidas, natch). But the best thing to come out of this ad is the song, which I will now break down for you…

Originally recorded by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, “Beggin’” was remixed by Pilooski and put to excellent use in the ad. But the version I’m gonna share with you is by Norwegian hip-hop group Madcon, who remastered the song with their own instrumentation and some added rhyme stylings. Both the Pilooski version and Madcon’s version have that revamped Motown vibe that’s still working for me (big time).
