As if my anticipation for White Lies’ debut album (January 13, 2009, people - it’s not that far away I suppose) couldn’t get any greater, an album sampler recently crossed my desk and now I’m positively salivating at the mouth. I can’t - no, REFUSE - to stop listening to To Lose My Life. White Lies have put out a new video for their third single, which I’ve embedded below for you to enjoy.
I could listen to 20 year-old (!) frontman Harry McVeigh sing Let’s grow old together and die at the same time over and over again. And I have been. I’ll spare you the vocal comparisons to Ian Curtis and Paul Banks (I’m sure they’ll be hearing this till the end of time…you just can’t get away with a similarity like that, especially if you also happen to be British). Let’s just leave it at the fact that this song is so catchy and snappy that it’ll make you wanna public transit dance to the point that a Craigslist missed connection from anyone of the opposite sex who spied you will clearly follow. Tell me this isn’t a terrific earworm?
