It’s a bold claim, I know. But believe me when I say I’ve been listening to Kings Of Leon‘s Sex On Fire upwards of ten times a day for the past few weeks. It’s that good. It’s already my most listened to track of 2008 and I don’t think that’s gonna stop anytime soon.
I dare you not to adore this song. It’s three minutes and twenty-six seconds of pure bliss – it’s rockin’, it’s sexy, it’s layered and luscious, all at once. The hook is mind-numbingly catchy.
Kings Of Leon’s fourth album Only By The Night was just released this past Tuesday. They’re poised to ‘break’ America (their homestead!) with this album and I’m excited to see it happen. They’re on the cover of this month’s SPIN magazine (read it here), they performed on SNL last weekend and their tour sold out in mere moments (their lone Canadian date at the Kool Haus on November 7 included).
The Tennessee foursome is made up of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared and their cousin Matthew (far left in the photo, if you care to know). They’ve been kicking around since 2003 but it’s only been since the release of 2007’s Because Of The Times that they’ve seen soaring success over in the UK and other parts of the world. Next=global domination??
