We know the winter hasn’t been kind lately, with dropping temperatures and snow piling up outside. But if there’s one lady who can warm anyone up, it’s Canadian Sarah Rosete. The dancer-slash-singer stopped by MuchMusic to talk about her new group Electrik Red, who signed last year to The-Dream’s Radio Killa/Def Jam label.

If Sarah looks familiar, that’s cause you’ve seen her dancing on tour with Usher, or in a billion different music videos, including Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin’”, The-Dream’s “Shawty Is A Ten” or Ciara’s “Like A Boy”.

Electrik Red has three other smouldering members, Lesley, Binkie and another Canadian, Naomi Allen. Naomi and Sarah became besties when they attended Claude Watson School for the Arts in Toronto, studying music, visual arts, drama and dance.

Who knew their training in jazz, modern and folk dancing would result in the jaw-dropping toilet stall dance sequence (yes, we said toilet stall!) featured in their video “Drink In My Cup”. The song boasts breathy vocals, a crunktastic beat and a gritty rawness that feels way more N.E.R.D. than The Pussycat Dolls. And the rest of their debut album, How To Be A Lady Vol. 1, should be killer since its being produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, the creators of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella”.

Watch Sarah talk about Electrik Red, and how the group has mastered the art of peeing in unison.
