Ellie Goulding chosen to play the Royal Wedding

Having Prince William and Kate Middleton as your fans really does pay off. UK singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding has been added to the Royal Wedding Festivities as a performer for the newly married couple’s reception. Goulding has been named as the ‘Official Wedding Reception Singer’, not a shabby title for a singer who released her first studio album in 2010.

Rumours have been circulating that Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce will also be on the bill for Wills and Kate’s wedding reception, though this has yet to be confirmed by any of the parties.

While I do loves me some Ellie Goulding, I’m still surprised that the Royals chose the singer to perform at the wedding. With the landmark year that Adele has had she seemed like a more obvious choice than Goudling. Still, I’m hella-excited to see which songs Ellie performs…for the Queen. Heavy.
