We first told you about Emma Watson’s new eco-friendly clothing collection last month and now the line’s been given a release date. The Harry Potter star’s “Pure Threads” collection will hits stores March 21st.
Emma teamed up with famous fashion designer Alberta Ferretti for the “green” clothing line, which features pieces produced with materials that are environmentally friendly. Even the packaging is environmentally friendly and, as an added benefit part of the proceeds will be donated to the non-profit conservation organization People Tree.
As for the collection, it consists of five pieces — two dresses, a shirt, a long skirt and a pair of denim shorts.
Emma says she’s thrilled to not only be branching out into the design world, but to be doing it for such a good cause. “I’m pleased that a luxury brand such as Alberta Ferretti has decided to create ecological clothes,” she says. “This is a big step forward for all of the international fashion industry, but also an important step for an increased sensitivity to the problem of ecology.”
Way to go Emma! We can’t wait to check out “Pure Threads” in stores!
