My friends and I used to make annual road trips to Buffalo every summer to shop at a store called Express. It was the perfect mix of Jacob and H&M, with a little bit of French Connection thrown in as well. Even better? The store was only open in the ‘States, which meant we could come back with bags of clothes that nobody at school would have! Sadly for us (but happily for everyone else), Express is finally coming to Canada, with plans for six new stores this year!
The first one opened this past week at Fairview Mall in Toronto. The store has over 10,000 square feet of space and will carry both menswear and womenswear. Entourage star Emmanuelle Chriqui and Toronto Maple Leafs’ Luke Schenn were on hand for the official ribbon cutting and to welcome shoppers to the store.
Other locations planned for Canada include Lime Ridge Mall, Southcentre in Calgary, Chinook Centre, Market Mall and Mississauga’s Square One mall. In total, Express plans to roll out more than 50 stores in Canada over the next five years. Come to think of it, we’re actually pretty excited that we don’t have to drive all the way to Buffalo anymore to shop at Express. And even if the person sitting next to us in class also shows up with an outfit from the store, we’re pretty sure we’ll be able to rock it out differently. After all, it’s not just about style right? It’s about personal style.
