Fame gets its premiere in L.A.

The cast of Fame premiered the remake in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Star Collins Pennie (pictured) said it was tough to live up to the 1980 original.

“It was a challenge, but we came out of this on top. We came out with so many other skills, it was amazing.”

Asher Book said he went to the actual Fame school so he knew all about the earlier version.

“I grew up in the theater world, so I was very familiar with it and the theme song. I went to the original fame school. I knew it.”

Fame hits theatres across the country tomorrow.
