Let the Battle of the Bling begin!
Both 50 Cent and Kanye West release their new albums next week (Sept 11) and both have come out fighting. 50 Cent recently told Rolling Stone that if Kanye West beats him in album sales, Fiddy will no longer release any more solo albums.
So will 50 Cent stick to his word? Reportedly, pre-sales for Kanye’s album are higher than 50’s! But, is this a clear precursor as to what will happen on September 11th? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
Which one of these badass mofos should come out on top? Whose Momma is gonna knock whom out?!
(And more importantly: Who would win in a staring contest?)

Freddy vs Jason was better
I’m sure millions of people who don’t even like hiphop are gonna buy Kanye’s album just to put 50 out of business. And then 50 will buy enough of his own albums just to make sure he wins.
I copped both albums. 50 Cent’s phenomenal “In Da Club” and hit singles that proceeded put 50 on the map. Not just on the map… more like a stab. But, ever since then, its never been the same (or maybe the problem is that the fact that he IS the SAME). The sound on Curtis is good, but nothing you haven’t heard before (and better) on The Massacre. For the record, Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is arguably his best album.
Now here comes Kanye. Ever since he’s come onto the scene I’ve received so well to his music, his socially conscious lyrics, and even his larger-than-life ego. College Dropout and Late Registration both come close for a hair-line tie when it comes to both albums’ undeniable hits. Graduation continues his hip hop enthusiasm, creative experimental venturing into creating new sounds, but still keeping true to the essence of what makes Kanye KANYE.
Graduation is by-far not even WORTH comparing to Curtis, but, for the sake of one of debate, Kanye is a better lyricist, flow, production (bonus because HE makes it himself), and overall message. 50 is fun, but that’s all it is, but not even. Who said Kanye isn’t fun? Who said people can only dance to 50’s songs? What about “Stronger?” Hello, what about “Golddigger?” So, not only does Kanye make music with more substance, he even tears up the club even better now. I will give it to 50, 50 does have his hits, but they’re not nearly in consistency or quality for that matter. Well, I do like “AYO Technology” and “Fire”, but the first was really a Timbaland working and the 2nd being the wicked MC from the westcoast; Dr. Dre.
Sales why, it’s difficult to say. Are teenage girls still eye-googling over an ape? If so, that’s what could beat Kanye are these groupies of teenage girls who JUST LOVE him. Meh. You know what though, the people who are buying Kanye’s album are definietly the ones for hip hop and in support for one of the last breed, Kanye, of his kind trying to give hip hop a voice.
Staring contest wise.. 50.

Biggest publicity stunt of the year.
I bet they’re both over at Fiddy’s right now drinking Margarita’s and counting their money.
