First Official Drake Video = Come ON!!!!

You’ve got the hype of a billion souls behind you, you’ve got a BIG TUNE that sets clubs on fire, and you scored KANYE WEST to direct your video. But somewhere, somehow, something went a liiiiiiittle bit wrong. For your first music video out of the gate, it had to come HARD. And this? Doeeesssss not. I am saying this constructively, with love. MAD, crazy, wild, monkey love. We, the people, are disappointed.

I’m not putting this on Drake - I’m putting this in the hands of Kanye or management (I’m not sure if there was actually a record label to deal with at the time of shooting). With ‘Ye’s unique catalogue of directed videos, I would have imagined something innovative and stylish. With Drake’s viral spread of his mixtape, I would have hoped for a video that was equally shareable. Am I being too much of a hater? What do you think of it?

  5. I hope the extras in the video were payed well, to cover the cost of their compromised dignity, not to mention they were paid to act like the woman’s moment never existed…good job ladies.

    Also thank you Kanye for proving that hip-hop/rap videos can be different and don’t need to rely on the stereo types that made people dislike the genre in the first place. Kudos!
