Remember 1998? Was there a more beautiful, heart-wrenching song than Apparitions by Matthew Good Band that year? The whole Underdogs album was gorgeous. And then in 1999, Beautiful Midnight came out - another beautiful album that I listened to until it nearly shredded my CD player.
Then in 2002, remember the video for Matthew Good’s solo single Weapon from Avalanche, with its subversive Trainspotting/Fight Club/Bob Dylan-esque poster messages? MuchMusic played the crap outta that video!
All this to say that Matthew Good (the solo artists) has new music. And we have it, a week before it comes out in stores. Go listen to all fifteen tracks on Hospital Music right now, including cover versions of songs by The Dead Kennedys and Daniel Johnston.
You’ll also be happy to know we have 10 of his (and his band’s!) videos in MuchAXS, including Hello Time Bomb, Everything Is Automatic and In A World Called Catastrophe. Go watch some right now.

what can i say, i have a soft spot for matthew good. even if he is a little outspoken sometimes, but that is a good thing!!
Very weird - I just read that the tracklisting on the U.S. version of “Beautiful Midnight” was censored by the record label. What types of controversial song titles, you ask?
10. Boy and His ——- — (Machine Gun)
13. Born to —- (Kill)
WTF? Those are pretty basic song titles.
Peep some pics from Jay-Z’s concert in Toronto!

I love the song Weapon. It still breaks my heart every time I hear it.
I miss Matthew Good! I’m looking forward to hearing his new material.
