The Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, and now 98 Degrees – looks like 90s boy bands are coming back, full-force nowadays! But, even though some of our favs have returned, there are still a handful of boy bands that we’re keeping our fingers crossed for reuniting soon. Here are the top five boy bands we want to see back in our lives. [cue nostalgia!]
1. N*SYNC
N*SYNC must be on top of everyone’s boy band reunion wish list. The boy band that gave us Justin Timberlake was a favourite among teenage girls in the 90s but Timberlake has since broken out on his own as a pop star and successful actor. So, yes, JT is a bit busy, but for our sake, N*SYNC needs to reunite. Timberlake doesn’t even have to recreate those blonde curls if he doesn’t want to! It’s tearing up our hearts to not see you boys!
2. Dream Street
Jesse McCartney’s origins! That is all.
3. The Moffatts
The Moffatts was Canada’s answer to the boy band hysteria. The band comprised of four brothers – so, like a Canadian Hanson, but with four instead of three members – and immediately captured the hearts of young girls all over Canada. Anyone who listened to the radio in the 90s would remember hits like Bang Bang Boom, Girl of My Dreams and Misery.
4. O-Town
Once upon a time, MTV had a successful show called Making the Band in which boy and girl groups were formed and managed in front of cameras — before the days of American Idol. The first season gave us a boy band called O-Town, five boys from Florida who hit it big with their single, Liquid Dreams (yes, we finally get the disturbing reference now…ew). Oh, how we miss both the show and the group.
5. B4-4
These boys were probably the most tanned boy band in the 90s and gosh darn it, we loved them just as much as any other boy band. Remember how great Get Down was?
