The iHeartRadio Music Awards went down last night and even though we already reported on Usher’s amazing performance during the debut of a new Michael Jackson song, there were plenty more hilarious and mind-blowing moments from the evening. Below are five other moments worth noting from the award show!
Rihanna’s reaction to Ariana Grande’s performance
Ariana Grande delivered a pitch-perfect performance of her new single Problem at the award show and for some strange yet wonderful reason, the camera kept their eyes on pop star Rihanna. And even though she seemed to enjoy it for the most part, nodding her head at first and applauding afterwards, we did catch this great reaction to Grande’s sexy dance moves:
But also, this. This is priceless.

Just Rihanna in general
The pop star was the big winner of the night taking home four awards including artist and song of the year, but Riri also nailed her goth-inspired outfit. No wonder the cameras were fixated with her! Also, this booty-off with J.Lo is almost too much to handle.
Ariana Grande is in love with Hilary Duff
Grande was presented the Young Influencer Award by Duff, but something tells us Grande was more excited about meeting her idol than she was about the prize.
Kendrick Lamar covered Tupac
Paying homage to his West Coast hero, Kendrick Lamar covered the Tupac classic California Love. Before the performance, he also recalled a story where he saw Dr. Dre and Tupac shooting a music video near his house and how that influenced him. Joined and backed up by a bunch of fans, this was truly one of the best performances of the night.
Pharrell switched up his hats
Known for sporting variations of his now-famous Vivian Westwood hat, Pharrell opted for something slightly different at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. More of a black fedora, the winner of the inaugural Innovator Award went for something decidedly lighter looking, perfect for the summer! Watch the video below for a wicked medley of his hits!
Aaron Paul is a huge Arcade Fire fan
Avid Arcade Fire fan Aaron Paul introduced Arcade Fire at the show with a tapped segment of him driving around Los Angeles. In the clip, he explains that the Canadian indie-rockers are on all of his playlists and argues that they’re perfect driving music. Watch the entire video, as well as Arcade Fire’s performance HERE. Oh, and he also calls every member of the band “beautiful bitches.” But hey, listen to this reasoning:
