Five reasons why Jessie J was huge in 2011

While she may ‘do it like a dude’, Jessie J represented for the females as she became one of the fastest rising stars of 2011. Her soulful voice, unique style, and big personality captured the hearts of many fans, which earned them the nickname ‘heartbeats.’ Holiday Wrap is recapping the year of Jessie J as we remind ourselves that ‘nobody’s perfect’, but Jessie J comes pretty close.
2. Television Appearances
Being from the UK, appearing on Canadian and American television was one of Jessie’s many firsts this year. We were glad to be one of Jessie’s firsts as she stopped by MuchMusic for New.Music.Live on April 25 for the full hour! Her performance was definitely one of the best that the studio has even been graced with and it blew everyone away. Her funky and likable personality came through as she chatted about what she made for dinner in Toronto. On August 28, Jessie served as the house artist at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, performing many songs off her album along with some fun covers during commercial breaks. This year Jessie was party of VH1’s Diva Celebrations, which also included Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Florence + The Machine, and Jill Scott.
