San Diego’s Comic Con is in full swing and participants attending tomorrow’s Hunger Games panel will be the first to see the brand new trailer for November’s Catching Fire. The first trailer for the film debuted in April at the MTV Movie Awards and gave fans a sneak peek at some key scenes, including Gale’s horrific whipping in the centre of District 12 and the execution in District 11 (read our full breakdown of the trailer here).
With only one day left until the new trailer is screened and hits the web, we decided to put together a wish list of what we want to see in the next Catching Fire trailer.
5. Aerial View of the Arena
Any view of the arena for the Quarter Quell would quell our thirst (har har), but with arena for the 75th annual Hunger Games set up like a clock, an aerial view would be pretty cool. And then hot. And then electrocuting. And then freezing. I could never make it as a tribute.
4. Finnick Odair
Our first glimpse of Sam Claflin as the pretty boy tribute Finnick Odair came earlier this spring with the release of character posters, but what we still can’t wait to see Finnick, who becomes a major character in the series after his introduction in Catching Fire, interacting on screen with Katniss.
3. Victor’s Village
In the original version of Catching Fire, the book opens with Katniss and Peeta returning home and moving into the Victors Village along with their family. Prior to their move, Haymitch Abernathy was the only resident. The Village becomes the setting for Katniss meeting with President Snow, her time spent injured and recovering with Peeta and the last place she calls home before being sent back into the arena and eventually to the underground world of District 13.
2. The Force Field Explosion
Catching Fire concludes with Katniss helping alliance member Beetee blow up the arena, which led to her rescue by District 13 and Peeta’s capture by the Capitol. What exactly does a clear force field look like when it’s being blown up? Probably awesome.
1. The Bombing of District 12
After her rescue by members of District 13 and the uprising, Katniss is informed by Gale that District 12 has been destroyed. This is sure to be an emotional scene, with the book depicting the destruction of her home as a big push towards Katniss accepting her role as the Mockingjay.Tweet
