Florence and the Machine on Grammy’s and Gossip Girl

After officially breaking into the mainstream music scene with last year’s electrifying MTV VMA performance, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine is slated to play at next weekend’s Grammys. Welch will be lending her perfect vocals to a duet with Slumdog Millionaire composer AR Rahman. The two will perform If I Rise from the 127 Hours soundtrack.

In other Florence news, on tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl, airing exclusively on MuchMusic at 9pm ET, Florence and the Machine will be part of a very special guest appearance. Earlier this year Swedish pop singer Robyn also performed on an episode of Gossip Girl. At TIFF 2010 we caught up with Penn Badgley, who told us that he and then-girlfriend Blake Lively were good friends with Florence and the Machine front woman, Florence Welch.

Badgley and Lively have played series regulars Dan Humphrey and Serena Van Der Woodsen for all four seasons of Gossip Girl.
