Flying Lotus – “Lovers Melt Pt. III” (stream)

New Flying Lotus! Not Until The Quiet Comes, that much anticipated follow up to Cosmogramma won’t be available until October. After dropping a single for Adult Swim, “Between Friends” with Earl Sweatshirt and the mysterious Captain Murphy, and then sharing another Captain Murphy tune (seemingly implying a connection between Lotus and the mysterious rapper), Flying Lotus is generating more hype with a brand new mix. “Lovers Melt Pt. III” continues to build on a late 70s blaxploitation film sound which is becoming all the rage. Especially after Frank Ocean created his own Songs In The Key Of Life, Lotus offers a mix which works in the vein of Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield, and Sun Ra.
