Macklemore, Dolly Parton, Buddy Guy, Carrie Underwood, The Black Keys, Josh Homme, Joan Jett, Willie Nelson, Pharrell, and just about any other musician you can think of make an appearance in the upcoming Foo Fighters HBO documentary, Sonic Highways. Aside from having a kinda terrible name (so much build-up in the trailer and that’s what they end with?), the eight-part series looks pretty incredible.
Following the Foo’s as they travel across the US recording their latest record, Sonic Highways uses the recording process, plus interviews with some of music’s greatest artists, and the POTUS, to trace the history of music in America.
In the trailer, Willie Nelson talks about the influence of different genres on one another, a topic that is discussed at length throughout the series, which premieres on HBO this October.
The Foo Fighters are set to release their latest album, also titled Sonic Highways, this November. The new record will be the eighth in the band’s two-decade long career.Tweet
