Former Child Star Gary Coleman Dies At Age 42

Gary Coleman, the actor best known for his role as Arnold Jackson on the sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, has passed away at the age of 42.

The former child star died of a brain hemorrhage at his home in Santaquin, near Salt Lake City. Coleman was admitted to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center on Wednesday.

Reportedly, he was lucid until midday Thursday, when he fell unconscious and had to be placed on life support.

Coleman had suffered throughout his life from complications related to kidney disease, which originated during his childhood.

His most prominent work remained Diff’rent Strokes, which enjoyed a popular run between 1978 and ’86. From then on, a large part of his work was in appearances on shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Simpsons, among others.
