Frank Ocean channels influence on AskMen

It has been a great year for Frank Ocean. Frank’s highly anticipated album Channel Orange debuted to much praise by fans and critics alike, he bravely admitted to having fallen in love with a man on his blog, and he has had outstanding performances at events and in concert. It looks like AskMen agree because they have placed Ocean at number eight on their Top 49 Men of 2012 list.
AskMen gave their reasoning saying, “A few months ago, Frank Ocean publicly announced his bisexuality. It was a gamble, as the world of hip-hop, while undoubtedly trendsetting and trailblazing, is still less than tolerant. But the attention Ocean received for his courageous declaration was turned to his critically acclaimed new album and to his powerful performances on SNL and at the 2012 Video Music Awards.” Frank beat out Barack Obama, Ryan Gosling, and Michael Phelps on the list.
