Listen up! SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17TH @ 10AM to 5PM ET MuchMusic is holding an open casting call to find the next MuchMusic VJ! Come on down to 299 Queen Street West in Toronto, be yourself, chill out and show us why you’re the person we’ve been looking for. Our hosts love their jobs. Don’t believe us? Check out what VJ Liz Trinnear has to say about her swanky gig.
UPDATE: Though the casting call has passed you can still submit your application videos via casting@muchmusic.com.
In September 2009 I submitted my VJ audition tape and resume to the MuchMusic VJ Search 2.0. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine my audition tape landing me a position right here at MuchMusic. The competition narrowed down 4,000 contestants throughout 3 months of a competition and on December 17th I began my journey here at Much. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit culture shocked when arriving at Much, I was walking the same halls of my idols and working next to people who I looked up to for years (Sarah Taylor, Devon Soltendieck, Matte Babel). 1 month into my journey here at Much they sent me to live in Whistler, BC for a month to cover the 2010 Olympics. I was cat-skiing, hot tubing with celebs, bungee jumping, and interviewing some of my favourite artists, all within a month, absolutely NUTS!
Liz says:
I have now been here for two years and in that time I have been to the Junos twice, worked two MMVAs, covered wicked concerts and festivals, went down to LA and covered the MTV VMA’s and interviewed many of my idols. My biggest interview to date? LADY GAGA! What exactly am I trying to say with all this banter? I LOVE MY JOB. I can’t believe I even call it a job. It’s literally the best platform for growth and on top of that it’s the coolest place to work. We have so much fun here and if you are having any doubts on whether or not to take a chance on coming to our casting call, DO IT! What is there to lose?
Be yourself, be prepared, calm your nerves and most importantly have fun. We all love working here and would LOVE you to come and audition for your chance at a MuchMusic journey.
