GG Episode 10: Riding In Town Cars With Boys

The crash. The emergency room. Charlie’s big reveal. Suffice it to say, s**t went down on the mid-season finale of Gossip Girl! We know you need to relieve the drama again before it returns, so read on for our full 411 on the finale, and what we can expect when the show returns Monday @ 9PM ET following Pretty Little Liars.

So I’ll just get the first half of the eppy out of the way real quick:

Dan and Serena are still pissed with each other about Inside (Dan for writing about Serena as a party girl, and party girl Serena for killing his movie deal). But after they realize Chuck and Nate changed for the better from the book (we’re lovin’ Chuck’s in therapy and Nate’s a career man now) Serena and Dan decide to jump on the born-again band wagon too.

Serena digs through old Gossip Girl posts and realizes the only time she was happy with her choices was when she was with Dan. So she tries to jump on that band-wagon too. But falls flat on her well-dressed behind. She’s too late.

Dan realizes the only time he was happy was writing that steamy sex scene with Blair in his book, so he decides to call her up and have it out with their feelings.

Only Blair is in need of a friend right now. She doesn’t want to be with Louis, but she’s not sure if Chuck will take her with a child that isn’t his. Dan, instead of throwing his hat into the ring, is the friend Blair needs him to be and reunites Blair with Chuck.

Their reunion is short and sweet. Mainly because it’s at a party neither one of them were invited to. Charlie is officially being introduced into New York’s rich society with her own debutante ball. And its beautiful, glitzy, and full of the right kinds of rich and famous people.

Except for Max. He’s threatening to take her identity as Ivy Dickens to the media covering her party. The easy solution is to throw the spotlight on someone else, right? Right. So Charlie sends Gossip Girl it’s first juicy blast since the security breach and it’s a doozy – Blair and Chuck are reuniting!

Nate tries to get them out of the party without too much damage and into town cars waiting to take them happily ever after. Except that happily ever after never comes. It looks like someone cut the brake line on Blair’s town car. Which they need to zig zag their way out of the paparazzi tailing them.

The twist? That car was meant for Nate. It seems Max struck a deal with Tripp Vanderbilt and part of the deal was murder.

But instead of murder we get a crashed car and Blair and Chuck lives’ hanging by a thread in intensive care. Friends and family arrive at the hospital and determine Gossip Girl is responsible since the blog announced Blair and Chuck’s whereabouts (and getaway) to the paparazzi.

Charlie, racked with grief (she only wanted to throw the spotlight off herself, not injure Blair and her baby), comes clean to Rufus admitting she sent the blast…and that Max was right, she is a fraud. She’s last seen fleeing the hospital before Rufus can figure out what he just heard.

And the other big twist of the evening? With Chuck’s life hanging in the balance…Diana Payne has returned (at the request of Jack Bass) to make sure he’s okay? Why? I guess we’ll find out in 2012!

Is the baby okay?
Will Serena make a move in Dan?
Will Dan make a move on Blair?
Is the wedding still on?
Does this mean we’ll see Jack Bass on-screen soon?
