Finale Friday 7E/4P
January 25th, 2012

Also known as “the episode before the wedding“, Gossip Girl has done a fine job setting up all the players for exactly where we want them next week! Blair reads Louis’ vows…which were ghost-written by Dan! Blair allows Serena to end her fake romance with Dan…but Serena lies to keep it going! Father Cavalia knows Blair loves Chuck….and recruits Chuck to stop the wedding!
In case you missed it, catch up on all the drama HERE, then get the scoop on all the scandals before the wedding begins next week!

Because the wedding is going to be a BIG DEAL, Nate and Serena decide to end the Nate-murder subplot by staging the most clever cyber-feud in history!

Serena is all set to premiere her new blog S by S (using the same name Gossip Girl gave her all those years ago) in front of all of NYC…when Nate pulls the plug and deletes her page right as photographers starting taking her picture.

But they’re friends? No, not in the eyes of Gossip Girl. GG wants Serena sabotaged before GG helps Nate find his killer.
And it works. GG is fooled into thinking they’re enemies, and gives Nate all the evidence he needs. Serena and Nate (don’t they make such a good pair? They should hook them up for the third time) take their fake fight one step further and catch Tripp Vanderbilt trying to pin the crime on his wife. But grand-daddy Vanderbilt has an alibi for Maureen, and Tripp confesses.

And that’s the end of that story.
But Serena is getting awfully good at faking things, and is beginning to think what is fake is actually real. Example – her fake relationship with Dan. Originally a cover for Blair and Dan sneaking off to church, it’s now beginning to take it’s toll on Dan’s career. His publishes think that since he’s back with Serena, he should be writing a sequel to Inside, instead of what he wants to right (which is apparently something that sounds like Cowboys & Aliens 2).

So, he asks to break it off with her, and she lies and says they have to at least keep it up until Blair’s wedding. Why does Serena lie? Because she’s slowly realizing she’s still in love with Dan.

And onto the biggest news of the episode: Blair loves BOTH Louis and Chuck! (and just where did Dan go from that list?)
Beatrice Grimaldi is back in town for the wedding preparations, and more importantly, Blair’s bachelorette party. And she wants booze and naked men galore. It’s a good thing Chuck is still stalking Blair to find out why she’s marrying Louis when she promised to runaway with him.

After she learns that Chuck knows every last detail of her last night as a single woman, Blair allows Beatrice to switch up her plans. Little does she know Beatrice is using this to her advantage since she wants to sabotage Blair’s reputation so the wedding will be called off.

Earlier, Blair went to confession to speak to her priest that she a) still loves Chuck even though she’s going to marry Louis and b) she wants to replace the Grimaldi priest Father Cavalia with her own as the Grimaldi family’s religious counsel.

Father Cavalia, who’s secretly sleeping with Beatrice, concocts a way to get Blair’s wedding called off: make a drunk fool out of Blair and have her sleep with Chuck.

But Blair is actually having the time of her life at her bachelorette, and confides in Beatrice that she does love Louis as well, just in a different way from Chuck. Beatrice decides to call off her plan (but not before having Blair arrested for possession and assaulting an officer) and tells Father Cavalia she’s on the side of angels now.

Father Cavalia, still not wanting to be replaced by Blair’s priest, decides to bring Chuck into the fold and get this wedding called off once and for all.

Which might be even harder now that Blair is even more in love with Louis than she was last week. Why? She found his vows and they peer into her soul! Except, as we learn just before the episodes closes….Dan wrote Louis’ vows for him! It’s Dan’s words that peer into Blair’s soul, not Louis.

Let’s see what happens when that doozie of a secret comes out (and we know it will!).

Who am I? That’s one secret I’ll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO.
