GG Fashion Recap: we are gathered here today to join dresses and suits in holy matrimony

Hey Upper East Siders, Kim here, with your one and only source into the scandalous closets of Manhattan’s elite (a.k.a. a Royal Wedding wardrobe recap.)

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join dresses and suits in holy matrimony. The bride left guests in awe as she walked down the aisle in a hand-sewn, lace Vera Wang gown. Perhaps, our princess to be was channeling Kate Middleton’s plain coiffe, but I expected an elegant up ‘do for Blair’s big day. Naturally, the bouquet was filled with pink peonies; B’s fave!

Was Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid, Louis’ nuptial inspiration [can we crop a pic of Louis/Eric]? The white ensemble was perfect for the nobleman; it exuded extravagance. Unfortunately, after last night’s episode, that outfit is all Louis will have to keep him warm at night, seeing as even though they’re married….to the Prince of Monaco, Blair is nothing more than a business deal!

Fashion recycles itself, and boy, are the GG stylists green. Serena’s dress in the tribute to Marilyn Monroe’s Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was Lily’s dress from season 4′s Pink Party. Like mother, like daughter– both Van der Woodsen women looked stunning in the gown. Glowing in Vera Wang, the maid of honour’s pink chiffon gown is actually a bridal dress. GG stylist extraordinaire, Eric Daman, said the dress resembled peonies; making it the perfect choice to stand alongside the blushing bride.

Keeping with the Vera theme, Blair’s bridesmaids also donned Wang’s designs. What’s more important, is that YOU can wear the organza dress too! Fret not friends, the fabulous frock is part of Vera’s affordable fashions at David’s Bridal.
