It looks like Britney has released her most boring video yet: Gimme More.

It’s one of those fancy “dual-role” videos. It starts off with Britney sitting at a bar, clad in an uber-shiny blond wig, with two blond friends of her, who are all pretending to have fun. Britney probably has no idea who these girls are – and it shows. You can see it in her sedated eyes. Then cut to the bar’s stage avec stripper pole as a dark-haired Britney walks up to it and starts shimmying around it. For the next 3 minutes. Just shimmying. Over and over and over again. Shimmying. Oh wait, at one point she’s over at the mirror, dry-humping it. And the blond Britney with her Blondettes just sits back and watches. (Check out blond Brit’s facial expression at the 1:30 mark – it’s the same look I had on my face for the entire video – utter confusion).

And they had to do re-shoots of this? What?! I could have shot this in my basement with my crappy Super8 camcorder and a multi-coloured fisher price strobe light.

I’m just mad that she can make fun and sexy videos like Toxic, I’m A Slave For U, Hit Me Baby One More Time, You Drive Me Crazy, etc, etc, etc…. and now, when what she needs is a eye-popping mind-blowing video, she releases a snoozefest instead.

What happened to the girl I used to know? The one that could belt it out on Star Search? The one that had amazing over-the-top dance numbers? Come back to us, Britney Spears! Come back!
