Girl Talk’s Gregg Gillis honoured with his own day in Pittsburgh

Maybe it’s because he gave away his new album or maybe it’s because he is amazeballs at manipulating other people’s songs and making them his own. Or maybe it’s just because he has arguably the best live show going that doesn’t actually require him to play one original note of music. But Girl Talk will now deservedly have his own official day in the city of Pittsburgh.

According to the Pitt News, Gregg Gillis, the man behind Girl Talk, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh has officially declared today (December 7th) “Gregg Gillis Day.”

Gillis announced the news on his Twitter account, tweeting photos of the city council meeting as well as the proclamation document. About the honour, Gillis left the acceptance speech short and sweet, writing, “Gregg gillis day like whoa.”
